It opened these days so I went. It is about the problematic of global warming in a lecture given by Al Gore. He is obviously since the nineties, for more than ten years, on the road worldwide trying to reach people in this complex matter. My first thought was yes, I can somehow see the point why people rather vote for Bush than Gore. Or in other words: I was surprised he almost reached his goal. But on the other hand it is very impressing how he restlessly travels the world to explain, again and again, why it is already almost too late to spend some serious thoughts about global warming. Although it’s obvious than this is the far bigger threat than terrorist attacks, it’s also needless to say why people easier relate to the latter. Politics is a dirty game, again, second thought. How can you possibly think of the Bush Administration doing something serious towards the problem of global warning? The reality mentioned in Al Gores lecture: The secretary who took over the job as Bush’s environmental advisor for the White House has a background in the oil industry, Exxon Mobile I think, and no scientific experience of the issue. He failed terribly, or nobody took him seriously, and he went back to where he came from. Or, California enforced stricter norms for the energy efficiency of cars – and was sued by the car industry…Well, I am happy I am riding a bicycle.

A documentary about the devastating danger of global warming.
