I started a new project today – fountain av. Photo picturing a street in its entire length. Visualizing a street. Visualizing the city. My daily way to work. From the north, upscale neighborhood of West Hollywood, to the other end of the street in the south, the trendy area of Silverlake. Los Angeles looks like a big unorganized, undifferentiated collection of urban dwellings, within a grid of streets, crossed by freeways, and in this respect a homogeneous chaos. But in fact it reflects subtle heterogeneity when you experience it closer. Today I was approached by a resident who was afraid to notice me as someone hanging around. He kindly asked me to move on. Getting further south this won’t happen anymore. Areas of very different aspects: socially, economically, aesthetically in the characteristics of a borough, but also on urban scale in relation to the city network. I think that’s what fountain av. is about. A travel through these very specific, different aspects of the city. The slight changes as signs of dynamic processes in a metropolitan area. The definition of city.

Good night, and good luck.
