The most absurd film I’ve ever seen (tonight on dvd). The city needs to build a new prison because the old one has no space left. They invite people to spend a night there for $100…enjoy state of the art prison before it starts its business, with the real prisoners. What happened to a town when it comes to this point??? Michael Moore’s claim that GM (and chairman Roger Smith) took a major responsibility when they closed factories and laid of thousands of people (all in Flint as it seems are working for GM). The way corporation, capitalism, social welfare, public life and opinion, law, economics and politics collide, speak and act against each other…it is absurd. How furious has a situation developed when you create such a portrait of your hometown? It’s painful to watch, unbelievable…Not the fact alone that GM is mainly concerned about own interests but more everything else around taking place, developing, characterized, exposed…and reflecting this system and environment…where do we live?!
